10 Fall-Inspired Furniture Makeovers

It’s that time of year and I’m here for it! After a great summer, I’m excited to get into fall. It feels like a fresh start and I’m always inspired at this time of year to get painting. I’ve pulled together some of my favorite fall-inspired furniture makeovers to get my creative juices flowing and I hope they inspire you too!

In addition to some of my makeovers, I’m including some of my favorites done by other amazingly talented furntiure artists. Along with each description, I’ve linked to them directly so you can go and check them out!

1. Hepplewhite Yellow Dresser

This is probably one of my favorite projects of all time! I just love this soft yellow color – muted without being pastel. It is painted in the color Golden Hour by Melange Paints, and you can find a step-by-step tutorial for this makeover here.

2. Raw Wood Washstand

While this piece truly shines in any season, there is something about its rustic feel that makes me think of fall. I stripped and paint-washed this washstand to get this look. More information about paint-washing can be found here.

3. Floral Chest of Drawers

This floral design on this dresser is giving me all of those autumn vibes! Painted in the color Noir by Good Bones Paint and using a transfer by ReDesign with Prima, my friend Sarah at Sarah Benzanson Interiors gave this chest of drawers a classy makeover!

4. Tobacco Brown Furniture

Let’s just take in this color by Melange Paints, Tobacco Brown. Nothing says fall more than this color. It is one of my absolute favorites, so I had to showcase a few different makeovers. I’m so excited to share two makeovers by some of my favorite furniture artists: a tallboy dresser by Summer at Pinewood Charm and a rustic chest by Jen at Perfectly Imperfect Furniture.

5. Painted Writing Desk

This simple and classic writing desk makeover highlights the beauty of a light and warm neutral. It is painted in the color Ginger Apricot by Melange Paints. The name of this color says it all, just a touch of peach without the pink.

6. Orange MCM Dresser

The boldest makeover in the bunch! This MCM lowboy dresser that has been painted in the color Copperhead Orange by Melange Paints. Don’t be afraid to go bold friends, it makes for a truly one-of-a-kind statement piece.

7. Blue Floral Dresser

Who says fall should be reserved for yellows, oranges, and browns? My friend Kate at Kate’s Reclaimed added these beautiful floral designs using resin molds. I just love how the natural leaf elements pair so well with this fun blue color, Starstruck by Country Chic Paint!

8. Painted Sideboard

While this warm and cozy neutral is a perfect addition to any fall lineup, the staging is what makes this one so fun. Painted in the color Chai Latte by Melange Paints (a name that perfectly describes the color), complimenting the dark wood legs perfectly.

9. Green Secretary Desk

And while we are on the topic of colors, how about green? This earthy tone (Slate Green by Dulux Heritage) is perfect for that summer-to-fall transition. Plus the floral paper inside and beautiful staging add to this look. Painted by my friends at The Hillcrest Furniture Company.

10. Antique Painted Chest

Last but not least is this antique pine blanket chest. I almost didn’t include this as it is one of my early staged makeovers, but it’s a great reminder that we all start somewhere! For this makeover, I used milk paint to give it a truly authentic old-world look. I used the color Sand by Shackteau Interiors.
